Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The project is progressing well. Ethics clearance for China, Japan, Australia and Thailand but not yet Korea. [Reporting] A protocol and audit trail has been established and researchers in each country are contributing to a background evidence matrix on health beliefs. [Training] The Principal Investigator has conducted training for research assistants in Australia, Korea, China, Thailand and Japan. [Data Collection] Data collection is underway in various places across Japan (Kyoto, Nagasaki, Okinawa and Tokyo) China (X’ian, Wuhan, Lanzhou and Hanzhou) and data collection will be completed by December 2015. In Thailand the Pilot study has been completed and the main study commenced. It is expected that this will also be completed by the end of the year. The Pilot project has been completed in Korea. The Pilot project has commenced in Australia. [Publications] Three publications are under consideration. One of these is in Nurse Education Today, another Nursing and Health Sciences and a third in The International Journal of the Pacific Rim.

Only minor problem with cooperation from Korean partners but this is likely to be resolved soon.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Complete Australian pilot study by June 2015 Commence main study in Thailand and Australia by July 2015 Complete data collection in China, Korea and Jpan by Decemeber 2015.

Causes of Carryover |
Data translation fee did not cost as much as we estimated.

There are more plans to travel to collect data this year and we are going to use the money for data translation.
