Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to develop educational programs and dissemination methods for psychiatric nurses in order to introduce complementary and alternative therapies that works from the physical side. We conducted a national survey, held a workshop, and then followed up for one year.We investigated the effects of 1-year aromatherapy on nurses through physiological and psychological tests and monthly interviews. The sympathetic nervous system showed a tendency toward excitement and negative mood state was improved due to continuous use of aromatherapy. The interview revealed that it was effective as an intervention unique to nursing for patients, nurses, and nursing managers

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は,多忙な業務の現場のままCAMを取り入れる工夫を探り,その効果をみようとしたものである.あえて現状を統制することのない状況における一定の効果として受け取ることができる.とりわけ,介入による看護師の心理的な効果の持続,及びこれまでアロマセラピーの効果として,焦点の当てられてこなかった患者と医療者の関係性の発展のプロセスに寄与しうる影響について,質的に明らかにできたことは研究の成果と言える.
