Project Period (FY) |
2014-04-01 – 2018-03-31
|
Keywords | DNA adductomics |
Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Exposure assays using hydrogen peroxide and 1,2naphthoquinone were conducted. Some putative DNA adducts detected in bacterial cells were identified as DNA adducts by different techniques. Relative levels of known and unknown DNA adducts were compared. Methods were developed for conducting ROS assays. Initial methods for conducting RNA transcriptome analyses were explored.
|
Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Some putative DNA adducts were identified but require further confirmation. ROS assay assays showed that ROS levels were related to exposure scenarios. Using bacteria, DNA adductomics system was established and has allowed for wider application using human cell lines.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Complete RT-PCR analyses, confirm unknown adducts, and conduct RNA transcriptomics.
|
Causes of Carryover |
Budget was carried over for the purpose to complete transcriptome analyses.
|
Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget |
Plan to conduct transcriptome analyses.
