The main purpose of this research was to conduct a series of workshops on developing conference English presentation skills for Japanese doctors, to publish related research, and extend this teaching and research to other universities/hospitals in East Asia. Over the duration of the research period I published 1 book, 5 papers, conducted 10 Japan-based presentations/workshops (with a further 5 upcoming invitations to hospitals, universities, and conferences,11 foreign presentations in which this research was utilized. Given these achievements, I am more than satisfied that my research goal has been met and successful. In October 2014, I published the book, 'Survival English for Academic Conferences:A candid guide for Japanese doctors'. Peer-reviewed papers have appeared in 5 proceedings or journals. Invited presentation or seminars at hospitals and medical conferences in Japan included those held in Toyota Hospital, Aichi Prefecture (x2), Kyoto Univ. Hospital, Gunma Univ. Hospital, U. of Miyazaki Hospital, Himeji Red Cross Hospital, OBGY Spring Forum, Society for Reproduction/Development, Summer Seminar on Endocrinology/Metabolism, Japan Society for the Study of Obesity. Upcoming invited presentations/seminars in 2016 include an seminars at Tokyo University Hospital and Faculty of Agricultural Science. JASMEE Conference, Keio Univ. Reproductive Science Conference, Azabu University, and ETRA Taiwan. Foreign and Japanese conferences involving this research included those held in Indonesia x2, Cambodia, Malaysia, JASMEE (Japan) x2, Thailand x2, Nepal, and Vietnam.
