本年度は、刺激作成の予備実験として「動き」と「音」との関係・組み合わせを調査するため、日本語にない曖昧母音を子音と組み合わせた音声を英語母語話者に発音してもらうことにより、日本語話者・英語話者双方にとって新規な音声刺激を作成し、日本語母語話者・英語母語話者・日本語を母語とする3歳児の3群において、動きの大きさや滑らかさと子音の構音特性との関係について調査した。
先行調査と同様に有声・無声と動きの大きさについては3群ともに顕著な関連性を見出すことができたが、その他の特性についてはさらに詳細な分析を要する結果となった。
