Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We should classify drug policies in the world into three schemes, that are (1) harsh punishment, (2)diversion (ex. drug courts) and (3)harm-reduction(ex. methadone therapy, legalization of marijuana use) ones. Japanese government introduced a new legal system, so-called " partial suspension of Imprisonment with longer probation", which is placed in the transition period from scheme (2) to (3)., when private treatment providers(ex. Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Center: DARC) should play important roles. Our team, Drug Addicts Recovery Supports(DARS) have held fourteen seminars since ten about years over Japan, and at last organized it in Seul.
