多結晶基板上ガーネットを用いた2次元マグノニック結晶の形成

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は,磁性体を用いた光回路に関する知見を発展させて,スピン波(磁化の波)の配線を,伝播媒体を加工し実現するものである。これに向けて本年度は,媒体の形成と,バルクYIGを用いた1次元体(直線)のプロセス確立と,2次元体(曲げをもった配線)の測定系の構築を行った。
媒体形成は,計画に沿って,高耐熱バッファー層の形成条件の確立を行った。形成可能な条件があることが分かったが,得られる膜特性が安定しないことから,来年度焼結ターゲットを用意して,膜形成する方針を立てた。同時に,バルクのYIGを用いた1次元体,2次元体の導波路を作成し,スピン波の伝搬と,曲がった導波路においても伝搬することを確認した。1次元体は周期的な金属構造を用いて形成し,2次元体はバルクYIGをダイシング加工することによって導波路を形成した。

Reason

媒体形成において,バッファー層とYIG膜それぞれの形成方法が確立したが,両方を重ねて形成するには至っていないため,計画よりも一歩遅れている。一方で,当初計画中,2年度目に行なう予定であった2次元体のスピン波導波路の形成に成功しているため,全体的に予定通り進行していると判断している。来年度間に,媒体形成に特に注力し,当初目的を達成する。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

媒体形成に注力し,安定した形成条件を見つける。この媒体を用いて,今年度確立したマグノニック結晶形成手法を使い,多結晶基板上の2次元マグノニック結晶の形成とスピン波曲げ率等の性能評価を行なう。
