Outline of Final Research Achievements |
“Disorder states” are characterized by no peak in the spectrum of fluctuation, while “crystal states” are defined by the translational symmetry breaking. Both the concept is not exclusive and, in principle, there may be states respecting the two properties. Such states are called “turbulent crystals”. In this research project, we aim at proposing mathematical models that exhibits a turbulent crystal state. We also attempt to classify them. Here, the translational symmetries are considered in space and time directions, respectively; We refer them “turbulent crystal (space)” and “turbulent (time)”. As the result of this project, we report two examples of “turbulent crystals (time)” , which are related to the concept of “replica symmetry breaking of trajectories”. The examples are published in Phys. Rev. Lett and J. Phys. A. With regard to “turbulent crystals (space)”, we find a strong candidate but we could not establish the evidence for the validity of this model.
