Outline of Final Research Achievements

For the development of topological huge molecular systems based on polyrotaxanes, novel methodology for efficient end-capping synthesis of rotaxanes without loading any catalysts or activating agents has been developed by utilizing high reactivity of a pentacoordinated silicon compounds. By using this methodology, neutral donor-acceptor (D-A) [2]rotaxanes have been successfully synthesized even at low temperature in good yields, one of which presents the highest yield ever reported for the end-capping synthesis of a neutral D-A [2]rotaxane.
