Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の最終目的は、「中空コア光ファイバのコアを機能性流体で満たし、ブリルアン散乱信号の解析に基づいて電磁界の分布センシングを実現すること」である。昨年度までに、(i) 毛細管現象を用いて電気粘性流体を中空コア光ファイバに充填する手法の開発、(ii) ブリルアン散乱特性に直結する電気粘性流体の基礎的な音響特性の解明、(iii) 電気粘性流体中の音速の電界強度依存性の測定系の設計、を行った。これらの成果を踏まえ、最終年度は、(1) 電気粘性流体中の音響特性の電界依存性の調査、(2) 電気粘性流体中のブリルアン散乱の検出、(3) 刺激応答性ハイドロゲル中のゾル-ゲル転移中の音速変化の解明、(4) 極めて高い空間分解能を有する分布型センシングシステムの開発、を推進した((3)(4)には成功)。以下、(1)~(4)を詳述する。
(1) 昨年度までに設計した測定系を用いて、パルス-エコー法により電気粘性流体中の音速の電界依存性を測定した。異方性を考慮し、電界印加方向と平行および垂直な方向での音速を測定した。しかし、装置の最大出力までの電界強度範囲では、明確な音速の電界依存性は観測されなかった。(2) 従来の検出系にロックイン検波などの感度向上の工夫を施してブリルアン散乱信号の直接検出を試みたが、信号対雑音比が低く、明確な信号は検出できなかった。(3) 農工大と共同で、イモゴライト(円筒状粘土鉱物)による刺激応答性ハイドロゲル中の音速、およびそのゾル-ゲル転移中の変化を測定し、そのゾル-ゲル転移のメカニズム解明に寄与した。(4) ごく短距離に渡る電磁界変化の検出のため、世界最高の空間分解能を有する分布型ブリルアンセンサを考案、実装し、ポテンシャルを証明した。本研究の成果により、今後電気粘性流体中のブリルアン散乱の観測を分布型センシングまで一気に展開できる土台を整えたといえる。
