Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Cs2Mo2O7 has been synthesised successfully by heating Cs2CO3:2MoO3 at 873 K for 1 hour and then annealing at 673 K for 6 hours. Vaporization of Cs2Mo2O7 had been tested at 1573 K for 1 hour, in Ar gas with flow rate 100 ml/min. The deposit of Cs2Mo2O7 was collected on either Pt or SUS304 sheets, at different temperatures, from 1530 K to 547 K. The obtained deposits on Pt were mainly Cs2Mo2O7 and Cs2Mo2O7 absorbed H2O. The deposit on SUS304 were variety depend on the temperature. Mo and MoO2 were found on the surface of SUS304 at the temperature higher than 1500 K. The Raman spectra also showed that the deposit were Cs2Mo2O7, Cs2MoO4 and some peaks were considered as Cs2CrO4. From EPMA mapping it could be said that Cs molybdate and chromate stayed inside the oxide scale. At the temperature about 1230 K, the deposits on SUS304 were MoO2 and Cs2MoO4. Besides, Cs2Mo2O7 and Cs2MoO4 were found at the temperature lower than 730 K. From the above results, we could conclude that the reactions between Cs2Mo2O7 and SUS304 have been taken place at high temperature, Cs2Mo2O7 only deposit on the surface of SUS when the temperature lower that the melting point of Cs2Mo2O7.

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The deposition test of Cs2Mo2O7 on Pt in Ar gas has been done successfully. The new point is Cs2Mo2O7 evaporates as Cs2Mo2O7 and deposits as Cs2Mo2O7. Combining with the data of mass loss that obtained from thermogravimetric method, the thermodynamic on vaporization and deposition of Cs2Mo2O7 has been calculated. A full paper is preparing for reporting this information.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Vaporization and deposition behaviour of Cs2Mo2O7 in humid condition will be studies by both transpiration test and themogravimetric method. Besides, the deposition of Cs2Mo2O7 will be carried out on either Pt or SUS304 in humid condition, in order to understand the possible reactions of Cs2Mo2O7 with other materials. The SOLGASMIX-a computer program to calculate equilibrium relationships in complex chemical system- will be used to calculate for thermodynamic modelling of Cs2MoO4 and Cs2Mo2O7 in different conditions.
