Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A Luminescent Solar Concentrator (LSC) is expected to reduce the cost of power generation drastically because its solar cells are much smaller and a sun-tracking system is not required. To improve its efficiency, I have applied the guest-host technology for an LSC. Control of its photoluminescence (PL) characteristics enables the PL photons to reach solar cells more efficiently. I have modeled this process based on a tilted electric dipole and reproduced the experiment successfully. Furthermore, I have invented an energy-harvesting device that displays an image by projecting a laser beam on an LSC and demonstrated its operation.
