Outline of Final Research Achievements

As RNA viruses infect cells, the viral RNA and proteins are replicated within the cells to make its progeny viruses. During the infection process, the viral RNA makes a ribonucleoprotein complex with viral nucleoprotein to prevents it degradation by RNases in cells.
In this study, we synthesized a series of artificial peptide those were inspired from influenza viral RNA binding ribonucleoprotein domain sequence.Their artificial peptides were modified with gold-nanoparticle to detect influenza viral RNA.
As a result, we could succeeded to enhance the detection sensitivity of influenza virus RNA genome with gold-nanparticle conjugated artificial peptides.
