Outline of Final Research Achievements |
H1 histone, as a major structural protein, of higher-oder chromatin, is associated with stress responces in plants. So, in order to clarify the functions of a lily H1 histone gene, transgenic tobacco, transgenic Arabidopsis thariana, transgenic rice were prodesed. As a result, although the induction and expression of the lily linker histone gene, its overexpression did not improve the tolerance to various abiotic stresses including desiccation.
