Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Grafting is a very useful cultivating techniques in horticulture plants. However, the preparation of respective nursery plants as scion and rootsock, which should be equally grown, and the grafting operation during a limited period spends great labor for farmers. I could make a hybrid cotyledon seed which grow up a grafted nurse of scion cucumber with rootstock pumpkin by engrafting of a cucumber cotyledon containing its shoot apex tissue and a pumpkin cotyledon containing its root. Although it is necessary to find out the best method for the engrafting, robotization of this seed grafting process would make practicable in horticulture.
