Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It was suggested that post-traumatic stress symptoms in mothers may affect the mother's bonding to her child. As well as depressive symptoms, it is important to assess post-traumatic stress symptoms and assist the mother in promoting bond to baby. In the bonding classification of mothers with low birth weight infants, for mothers with ‘mild disorder’ classification, it is possible to reduce the delay in the timing of positive feelings toward the baby and the separation of feelings toward the baby. Support for mothers that promotes positive emotional reactions and enhances the quality of emotional engagement is important.
