近年スマートフォンの普及により、ユーザ参加型センシング（Participatory Sensing、以下PS）というスマートフォンを利用して低コストかつ広範囲に渡るセンサデータを収集する技術が注目を集めている。本研究はPSの以下３つの根幹技術の研究を目標に掲げる：①モバイル・スマートフォンネットワークにおける様々なアルゴリズムの設計、②PSにおけるユーザ激励型のインセンティブモデルの構築、③PSのスケーラビリティに関する研究。
初年度は、スマートフォンを主とするモバイルセンサーネットワークにおける様々なアルゴリズムの研究開発を行った。27年度は、前述の②と③に関する研究を行った。PSに参加することはユーザにとって、バッテリー消費や計算負荷を要するため、多くのユーザの参加を阻害している。さらにPSに参加することで、プライバシー漏洩の懸念もある。そこで、ユーザを積極的に参加させる激励型のインセンティブモデルの構築が必須である。既存研究の多くは固定した奨励でユーザのインセンティブを引き出そうとするだけで、時間、状況についての動的対応ができていない。本研究では、ゲーム理論及び経済学の理論でユーザ参加の動機モデルの構築を行った。
また、初年度に設計した提案アルゴリズムを取り入れながら、スケーラビリティの研究にも取り組んだ。それらの研究成果をまとめて、国際会議や学術論文誌にて発表した。特に、IEEE Communication Society最大規模の国際会議であるIEEE Global Communications Conference (IEEE GLOBECOM 2015)や、Impact Factorが高い国際論文誌IEEE Wireless CommunicationsやIEEE Transactions on Services Computingにその成果の一部が掲載された。
