Outline of Annual Research Achievements

表面材質知覚は物体を安定して知覚するためには欠かすことができない重要な機能である。こうした材質知覚は、物体表面材質音と、その材質が持つ視覚パタンから判別することができる。本申請による研究では、表面材質の視聴覚情報統合に着目し、視覚・聴覚刺激を統制した上で、表面材質の視聴覚情報統合の発達過程解明のため乳児を対象に実験的に検討することである。本年度は、昨年度に引き続き、視聴覚情報統合に関する脳の発達過程を探るため表面材質とその音の関係の一致・不一致を視覚―聴覚同時観察するときの脳活動計測実験を4-8ヶ月の乳児対象に行った。乳児が材質音を聴いて表面材質画像にその音がマッチするかどうかを判断することができるであろう高月齢児と、まだ判断が難しいであろう低月齢児で脳活動に違いがあるかどうかを検討し、行動実験のデータとあわせて論文を投稿した。また、こうした表面材質知覚には日常の生活環境が関係している可能性があり、これに関し共同研究者と打ち合わせを行い予備実験を実施した。
