Outline of Final Research Achievements

The frequency and intensity of natural disasters has significantly increased over the past decades and this trend is predicted to continue. To plan effective humanitarian relief, transportation scheduling, disaster management and long-term societal reconstruction, modeling and predicting human emergency behavior will play the most important role for the next-generation of urban emergency management. By mining big and heterogeneous data, this project developed several models and systems for predicting and simulating human emergency behavior and mobility following large-scale disasters at a citywide level. In addition, this project implemented the key modules for the next-generation of urban emergency management system.
