Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In order to get a better understanding of tourist behavior under the occurrence of natural disaster, this study used the Great East Japan Earthquake as a case study and analyzed international tourists’ response after the earthquake. A web-based questionnaire survey was conducted in South Korea and China. By using the survey data, different aspects of tourist behavior have been analyzed, including tourists’ risk perception, behavior response, and their intention to visit Japan in the future.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The future research will try to link the analysis of tourist behavior into the framework of tourism crisis management and provide policy implication for future crisis management of tourism industry.
