Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study deals with two collections of Japanese books and Chinese classics printed and manuscript in Edo period, in rivers basin of Kumamoto prefecture. One is 258 titles(1,176 books) kept by Kikuchi city in Kumamoto prefecture. As a result of publising a catalog about 258 titles, it was revealed most of these books are Chinese classics. The other is above 1,600 titles by Esho-ji in Misato-machi in Kumamoto prefecture. As a result of making a simple list about 1600 titles, it was revealed most of these books are Buddhism(the Jodo‐Shin sect).
