Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Upon further research on tombs considered as “Chu tombs in Warring States period” or “tombs of Chu state” excavated from lower ChangJiang River, this study has revealed that there are many tombs which inherited the culture of Yue and Huaiyi or ones built during the Qin Han period. It has been conventionally considered that Chu culture was propagated to the area during the Spring and Autumn period, however, comparing the results with the descriptions of literatures, effective control by Chu and immigration of Chu people are now considered to be much later, in late Warring States period. Most of the contributors to the establishment of the Han Dynasty are from this area and this study has revealed that their roots are not only Chu in Warring States period, but also various ones, sharing the same culture of origin in Chu. Therefore, it can be concluded that the one culture mainly originated in Chu culture, played an important rule to unify China as the Han Dynasty.
