| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
平成２８年度においては、研究成果の公表を主たる目的として、以下２点の研究活動を行った。
（１）国際学会での発表：
①医学の社会史学会大会「その場所における医学：医学を歴史的文脈に位置づける(Medicine in its place: situating medicine in historical contexts)」（於ケント大学；平成２８年７月８日）での研究発表（査読有）。研究発表の題目は「量化された自己：１９世紀末から２０世紀初頭のイングランドにおける臨床体温計測法（The "quantified self" in history: clinical thermometry in England between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century）」。近現代イギリスにおける臨床体温計測法の発展の歴史、臨床体温計業者の販売台帳の分析、臨床体温計の利用の具体的局面の検討が行われた。同発表に対しては、実証面での子細な質問が出され、活発な議論が展開された。今後、論文としての発表が期待される。
（２）現地史料調査
平成２８年７月５～７、同月９日、イギリス・ロンドンのウェルカム医学史図書館（Wellcome Library for understanding medicine）において現地史料調査を実施した。主として、臨床体温計測法の歴史について、特に利用者の日記や手記の収集を行った。

Reason
平成28年度において、医学の社会史学会大会「その場所における医学：医学を歴史的文脈に位置づける(Medicine in its place: situating medicine in historical contexts)」（於ケント大学；平成28年7月8日）において、「量化された自己：19世紀末から20世紀初頭のイングランドにおける臨床体温計測法（The "quantified self" in history: clinical thermometry in England between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century）」の研究発表を行ったことにより、国際的な成果公表という目的を順調に遂行することができた。最終年度である平成29年度においては、国際学会誌での論文としての発表が予定されており、研究の進捗状況はおおむね順調に推移していると判断できる。
