Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research is to clarify by archeology the area affected by Sanriku earthquake tsunamis that occurred before the modern and the behavior of people after the occurrence of the tsunami. As a result of organizing excavation data accumulated so far, there were decline and relocation events of the settlements at middle Jomon, middle Yayoi, and 9th century. Although it can't compare unconditionally, the past ruins discovered in or around the affected range of the Great East Japan Earthquake, there is a tendency that the settlements are interrupted at the tsunami and those of the next period have been detected in high altitude place.
