Outline of Final Research Achievements |
It is well-known that institutional quality has an important role in economic development. We have focused on the roles of political regimes and contract enforcement institutions and have mainly investigated the following three research topics. First, we have theoretically and empirically studied how ethnic diversity affects public good provision (health condition) in different political regimes. Second, we have empirically researched the effects of democratization on governments’ behaviors. Finally, we have investigated under what economic conditions contract enforcement institutions would emerge.
