Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
I have performed this research with theoretical, empirical, and methodological approaches and made concrete outcomes since 2014. With this project, my research works have been accepted by the following eight international conferences: 1) Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technologies (DESRIST) 2014; 2) Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS) 2014; 3) Americas' Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) 2014; 4) Asian Design Engineering Workshop (ADEWS) 2014; 5) Participatory Innovation Conference (PIN-C) 2015; 6) PACIS 2015; 7) ADEWS 2015; and 8) PACIS 2016. Based on them, I presented them for the international academic communities. To qualify my works, I submitted four Journal papers to Management Information Systems Quarterly (MISQ), European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), Information Systems Research (ISR), and Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS). Also, I am working on the other two papers on the topic in order to submit International conferences and Journals in 2016.
To enhance the body of knowledge on the designer-user interaction, I have worked with other university scholars and industry researchers in the ICT-enabled innovation companies. As a result, I have expanded the volume of research ideas and specifications with a variety of qualitative and quantitative research outcomes so far.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
This research project has been conducted appropriately. In particular, I have almost completed this study. As a result, a series of papers have been released by international conferences (e.g. DESRIST, PACIS, AMCIS, and DEWS). As an empirical approach, from now, I will focus on jounal papers in order to improve the quality of papers.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Based on this project, I have encountered new research collaborators in the United States, Europe, and other Asian countries. I had really wonderful two episodes that I have never met before. The one is that I met Brian Donnellan, a professor at National University of Ireland Maynooth (https://www.maynoothuniversity.ie/school-business/our-people/brian-donnellan), at DESRIST 2014. After my presentation, he offered me to use my research methodology, a grounded theory approach for identifying patterns and protocols of designer-user interaction. As a result, we set up a smart city research project. The other is that I met Arkalgud Ramaprasad, a professor at University of Illinois at Chicago (http://tigger.uic.edu/~prasad/), at PACIS 2014. He also proposed me to work together to increase the quality of current my research papers and ideas. Thus, I have expanded a variety of potential opportunities on this.

Causes of Carryover |
I withdrew two papers in the ICIS 2015, because of conflict schedules. Therefore, I will resubmit them to PACIS and ICIS 2016 and hope to attend there.
|
Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget |
I already accepted three papers on PACIS 2016 and will submit two papers to ICIS 2016. Therefore, I will use the incurring amount for this business trip. Also, I will purchase books and research related goods for effective publication on my current research progress
