Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research’s aim is inquiring how to develop teacher educators’ professionality in Finnish University by comparing international trend. The idea that “teachers as learning profession” is shared in educational reform of teacher education in Japan. Teachers have been educated in Master’s level since 1970s in Finland. Teachers have autonomy for their work and they are respected as high professionals. Developing standards for teacher educators is international trend and sharing vision among teacher educators and building network is highlighted. There is no standard for teacher educators but building network and supporting teachers by teachers themselves through sharing their practice in universities as platform are Finnish features. Teachers themselves become teacher educators is direction in Finland.
