Outline of Annual Research Achievements

超新星爆発後に残される中性子星の内部密度は原子核標準密度を優に超えることから、中性子星物質に対する状態方程式は未だ決まっていない。地上実験を通して得られる情報は、原子核の飽和性から飽和密度付近に限られるので、中性子星観測はこのような高密度領域における状態方程式に制限を与える上で重要である。中性子星の表面付近の固体層(クラスト)とコア領域の境界密度はおよそ原子核飽和密度となるため、クラストに関わる現象は原子核飽和パラメータと密接に関わっていると考えられる。本研究では、軟ガンマ線リピーターでの巨大フレア現象の減衰過程で観測された準周期的振動をクラストでのズレ振動と同定することで原子核飽和パラメータに制限を与えることを目指す。特に、これまで考えてこなかったクラスト最深部の非球形原子核構造(パスタ構造)の効果を取り入れた解析を行った。ズレ振動を特徴付けるズレ弾性率は、パスタ層のうち板状核において非線形応答をするため、線形解析においては板状核の層は流体として振舞う。そのため、クラストでのズレ振動は板状核の領域を挟んで二つの領域で独立した振動になると考えらえる。広い範囲での中性子星のモデルを用いて、クラストでのズレ振動数を系統的に調べた結果、観測された準周期的振動数と比較することで原子核飽和パラメータへ制限を与えることに成功した。また、我々のシナリオが正しいとすると、パスタ構造の存在が初めて観測的に示されたことになる。
