Outline of Final Research Achievements

Subsea minerals exist in the deep water within Japanese exclusive economic zone. Since the pipe wear due to large particle slurry flow is one of significant technical issues in subsea minerals production, we studied the evaluation method of pipe wear due to
large particle slurry flow.
We proposed the model based on a the experiments for predicting the wear due to large particle collisions. Then we estimated the wear volume based on the model and numerical computing of slurry flow. The evaluation method may be valid with comparing the estimation results to results of pipe wear experiments due to large particle slurry flow.
