Outline of Final Research Achievements |
First, fluorescence calcium sensor was expressed in only corticostriatal neurons or corticospinal neurons of mouse primary motor cortex by the retrograde gene transfer of adeno-associated virus. Next, I performed two-photon calcium imaging during a self-initiated lever-pull task for two weeks. These imaging data revealed that, during motor learning, the population which increased firing rate in corticostriatal neurons was different from that in corticospinal neurons.
