Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We conducted a NIRS study to explore social dysfunction in children with autism spectrum disorder during facial expression task. Furthermore, we explored gene polymorphisms in ASD and relationship between gene polymorphisms and brain activations. The oxygenated hemoglobin concentration changes during facial expression task were significantly smaller in the ASD group than in the control group. Gene polymorphisms were not related to brain activations. We intend to continue this study with larger participants.
