Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the present study, transplanted osteogenic cells did not differentiated into osteoblasts and matrix-embedded osteocytes. Interestingly, addition of SDF-1, a chemoattractant, significantly accelerated the bone formation in calvarial bony defect. These results indicate that acceleration of angiogenesis and mobilization of host-derived cells will be a promising approach for bone regeneration.
