Outline of Final Research Achievements |
At first, I clarified that the liposome for targeting inflammatory tissue accumulated at inflammatory periodontal tissue in mouse model of experimental periodontitis. Then, I examined connotation of TGF-β-related protein to the liposome and focused on HMGB1 neutralizing antibody which acted on GDF5, belonged to TGF-β superfamily. HMGB1 was reported the participation to various inflammatory diseases. And HMGB1 neutralizing antibody is expected as new therapeutic drug for those diseases. As the second step of this study, I manufactured the liposome involving HMGB1 neutralizing antibody. And I clarified that the liposome significantly inhibited progression of periodontitis in comparison with the simple substance dosage of HMGB1 neutralizing antibody.
