Outline of Final Research Achievements

The purpose of this research was to investigate the current status of verbal and physical abuse of public health workers by their clients in community health care settings. Verbal and physical abuse was defined as those offenses that would be categorized as criminal under the Japanese Penal Code.An anonymous, self-administered questionnaire survey targeting all community health care institutions in Japan was carried out in February 2018.
A considerable number of community health workers reported having experienced verbal and physical abuse that would be defined as criminal.
