視覚障がい者をターゲットユーザに含めたタンジブルなプログラミングツールP-CUBEの開発に取り組んできた．平成27年度に製作した，視覚障がい者が「プログラムの読み込み，制御対象への転送」操作の意味を実感しやすいシステムを使用し，視覚障がい者を対象としたプログラミング体験授業を実施した．体験授業後のアンケート調査からは，参加者が操作の意味を理解できていることが確認でき，操作行為と操作目的を適切にリンクさせることで学習者の戸惑いを軽減できることがわかった．また，制御対象である移動ロボットやプログラミングブロックのインタフェースの改良，操作状況の音声伝達システムを追加したことで，視覚障がい者が補助なしに操作できる部分が拡大したこともあわせて確認した．
さらに，タンジブルなツールを協調学習プロセスに使用した場合の効用についても検証した．ペアを組んでプログラミング学習に取り組む際，既存のプログラミング・ソフトウェアを使用する場合とP-CUBEを使用する場合での学習効果を比較する実験を行った．実験の結果，P-CUBEを使用する場合，ペア内の学習者間で学習効果に差が生じにくいことが示唆された．これらの要因を調べるため，各プログラミングツールにおけるペア内でのプログラミングツールの共有度や操作行為について調査を実施した．データマイニング手法のひとつである形式概念分析を適用し，ツール間における操作行為の差異と課題のプログラム構造との関係に注目した構造分析を試みた．
