Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research project aims to understand the cognitive mechanism of concept formation and manipulation from a constructive approach. A recurrent neural network model is used as a learning model to associate linguistic command and robot behavior. To evaluate this method, we design a simple object manipulation task in which a human verbally directs a robot, which responds appropriately. The result shows that the model has an ability to self-organize an internal structure representing the task structure. The achievements of this project could be applied not only to engineering techniques but also to academic studies on cognitive science.
