Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research aims at supporting drivers in traffic environment called shared space. We adopted a traffic simulator “UC-win/Road”, and built a roundabout intersection located at Ichinomiya city. The roundabout intersections are frequently introduced in the shared space. We collected driving logs (accelerator, brake, steering, and so on) of research volunteers, and analyzed the logs based on statistical approaches (e.g., Gaussian Mixture Model: GMM). The result indicated that beginner drivers feel uneasy about roundabout intersections, but appropriate support enables to stabilize driver’s behaviors.
