Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study assessed the relationship between oral health and general health in a Japanese urban population. Blow results were found. 1. Periodontitis may be a risk factor for carotid atherosclerosis. 2. Decreased masticatory performance might be related to carotid atherosclerosis. This relationship is independent from periodontal disease. 3. The regular utilization of dental care services is a factor influencing masticatory performance.
