Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the scope of the research, all data compilation has been completed. It included data on 1)mesothelioma; 2) world population and 3)asbestos consumption.1)Mesothelioma deaths: Data in the world (206 countries) during 1994-2012 has been compiled from the WHO Mortality database and complemented by relevant scientific papers. 2)Population: Data has been compiled by combing WHO, United States Census Bureau and UNDP population database. 3)Asbestos consumption: "Per capita asbestos use" and "total volume of asbestos use" have been calculated for each country (162 countries which reported asbestos consumption to United States Geological Survey as of 2012). Based on the database created, global mesothelioma deaths have been estimated by extrapolating known mortality rates of countries reporting mesothelioma deaths to countries not reporting mesothelioma deaths. Global mesothelioma deaths were estimated by world, continent and level of asbestos use.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research is being implemented as planned in terms of timeline.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The global situation of mesothelioma death will be shown by birth cohorts which is the last stage for the current research. Research result will be submitted to scientific journal. I also have plan to present the research result in international conference between November 2015-January 2016.
