| Research Abstract |
In the first year, acute experimental study of canine heart lung transplantation was performed. Experim-ental studies about preservation of donor heart/donor heart and lung were also performed. Operative technique and the aid of extracorporeal circulation were accompished. The conclusions of the first year were below.
(1) Donor hearts are safely preserved for 4-6 hours with the aid of simple immersion.
(2)As for the pulmonary perfuion solution for heart lung preservation Euro-Collins solution is better than saline or lactated Ringer's solution.
(3) Euro-Collins solution is good for immersion solution for donor heart lung.
(4)Most cases in canine heart lung transplantation died from heart failure and/or pulmonary edema within 24hours after transplantation.
(5) Pulmonary edema is not the change which occurs under the procedure of the donation or between the preservation. And the change starts within one hour from the reperfusion.
In the second year, heart lung transplantation was performed in the Japanese monkey for thirteen times. The most longest survival was 12 days and the monkey died of infection. The cause of the death were rejection in 2 cases,heart failure in 5 cases, hypoxia in 2 cases pulmonary edema in lcase, infection in one case and other cause in2 cases. Proper immunosuppressive therapy should be devised for far more longe time survival.
