Research Abstract |
1. We made a statistical analysis on the 1977 survey of atomic survivors in Hiroshima. 2. We ran a follow-up survey on some of them and studied the living, health and mental conditions of them. We found that the human damage caused by the atomic bombing was not limited to the immediate post-war years. It has continued and expanded as time has passed. 3. We made a comparative study on the methodological aspects of various sociological researches on hibakusha. The methodology of social survey on hibakusha proposes a new challenge to the theory of social survey, too. 4. We also made a sociological survey on the administrative aspect of the social policy towards hibakusha in this country. 5. We studied the family relations among hibakusha from the standpoint of the sociology of law. 6. We made a critical study on the hitherto published sociological surveys on hibakusha, made especially by Profs. R.J. Lifton and Tadashi Ishida. 7. Last but not least, we made a sociological survey on the social movements of hibakusha and people for human survival.
