Research Abstract |
In dental treatments tooth cutting is one of the most important processes. It is a difficult manipulation as the work is a minute handling in a narrow oral space and correct operation is required. For the training of dental students teeth models should be used before the students treat human patients. The teeth models should be placed in a human size mannequin head, as the narrowness of oral space is the main origin of the manipulation difficulties. If possible cutting conditions such as cutting forces, cutting tempreatures and cutting speeds are desirable to be measured, A dental patient robot is produced which means a tooth model with force pickups installed in a mannequin head. With use of this robot the operator can observe his cutting conditions during his training and assess the progress of his skill.
