Research Abstract |
This reports present a computer program to predict the bending behavior of wood based materials such as nailed built-up wood beams, two-layered wood beams connected with nails and nailed stressed-skin panels. The procedure used is a finite element method based upon the displacement method. Verification of the proposed expression is sought through the past experimental studies. Generally considerable agreement is obtained between the calculated deflections and observed ones. The results show that the computer programs in this study are capable of analyzing the bending behavior of the nailed built-up wood beams, two-layered wood beams connected with nails and the nailed stressed-skin panels.
