Research Abstract |
1. The permeability of rat oral mucosa was investigated by use of autoradiography. We applied tritium - labeled Triamcinolon CMC ointment to buccal mucosa, tongue and the floor of the mouth. We obtained the results that Triamcinolon was penetrated time dependently from the surface of epithelial layer to the submucosal layer and muscle layer and that there were regional differences of penetration. 2. The concentration of Triamcinolon in the rat tongue tissue was investigated. Triamcinolon acetonide oral film was applied and after 15, 30, 60 and 120 min., Triamcinolon in the tongue tissue was measured by the chromatography. We obtained the results that the dose of Triamcinolon were increased in the epithelium just under the film time dependently, and that each Triamcinolon was not so diffused arround the film region. 3. Iontophoresis was tried on the oral lesions, such as lichen planus, leukoplakia or cancer. There were some effective cases of lichen・planus by the use of dexamethasone and a few cases of leukoplakia were effective by the use of anti-tumor agent, BLM, but no cases of cancer were effective in our study. 4. We tried to use oral microscope to observe the permeability of oral mucosa. Normal human oral mucosa was stained by toruidine-blue or cresyl-violet. We obtained the results that there were many polygonal shaped cells having oral nucleus in the surface layer of the epithelium. The methods of the fixation of the scope and staining of the living body were discussed.
