Research Abstract |
In order to examine the functional aspect of small liver biopsy specimen, mini-slab electrophoretic patterns of protein were analyzed with the use of personal computer. 1) We have developped and applied the computer programing for the three dimensonal graphic analysis of two dimensional exhibition of electrophoretic patterns of protein. The area and the optical density of electrophoretic protein stain at each spot were measured systematically and reconstructed into three dimensional graphic pattern by computer analysis. 2) We have applied this three dimensional computer graphic study on quantitative examination of serum albumin in Non Alubumin Rat(NAR). As the results, serum albumin was almost un detectable in the control NAR group. However, in the experimental NAR group, serum albumin became detectable and increased with the progression of fibrotic changes in the liver. these results suggested that the albumin producing cells were increasing with the liver fibrosis. 3) This program developped for computer analysis of two dimensional electrophoretic pattern were useful for protein analysis in the small liver specimen and serum.
