Research Abstract |
The subcutaneous glucose sensors were prepared by using some glucose semipermeable membranes and tested in vitro under various oxygen tensions of 5 to 21 (%). They responded within 2 minutes at 95% of steady state and almost linearly up to 1500 mg/dl under 5% of oygen tension, they did linearly up to 500mg/dl by using the glucose semipermeable membranes which ristrict glucose penetration more seriously. And also needle type glucose sensors were prepared by using benzoquinone as an electron transfer mediator and tested in vitro and in vivo. Their outputs are unaffeted by oxygen tension in principle. Some reducing substances interfered the outputs. The outputs nearly corresponded to human plasma glucose levels. In IVGTT using normal dogs, the response values of outputs were smaller than those in vitro tests.
