TAKEUCHI (5)The Development of Japan's Policy of Transportation in Cities after the World War II: A. KATO (6)How to Conquer a Lack of Proper Transportation Planning Systems?: K.YAMAGATA (7)Consideration on the Transportation Planning Based on the Characteristics of a Region. : Y. HONDA (8)Consideration on the Town and Traffic Planning in Small and Mid-sized Cities : T. HANAOKA (9)Proceedings of the Discussion on the Concept of Small and Mid-sezed Cities and of the Transportation in these Cities :(Symposium) (10)Proceedings of the Discussion on the Transportation Planning in Small and Mid-sized Cities: (symposium) They are summarized to three categories. 1) A Transportation Planning Corresponding to the Structure of a Region : It is Necessary to be a totai plan corresponding to the city-sige. (paper 3, 8, 9,10) 2) To Carry Forward Studies on Analyses of Traffic Phenomena and the Evaluation for Planning Method : It is necessary that transportation planning is based on the result of the Analyses in that city. (paper 3,8,10) 3) Policy for Transportation Planning : It is necessary to make a total organization which arranges some sections of the government office, to train officers to be competent for planning, to transter the planning autholity from the central government to the local governments and to switch over separate subsidy to collective swbsidy.
