Research Abstract |
-----A novel system consisting of a soluble inorganic macromolecular complex reagent, soluble Prussian blue, caged in the network structure of gels such as Sephadex, agar, or acrylamide gels, was studied with regard to its synthesis method and properties, especially the ability of capturing various heavy metals ion in an aqueous solution. -----Briefly writing, we have made the abovedescribed study on the following systems: (1) soluble Prussian blue, (2) soluble Prussian blue caged in the network structure of agar, Sephadex, and polyacrylamide gels which is produced by making the blue form in the structure of gels, (3) the same system as (2) produced through another process: by producing soluble Prussian blue at first in an aqueous solution and afterward making the agar or polyacrylamide gel form in the same solution to confine in their network structure the molecules of the soluble Prussian blue. -----We have found numbers of important properties and facts about (1), (2), (3), and comfirmed the excellent ability of the system (2) for capturing heavy metals ion such as <Co^(2+)> , <Ni^(2+)> , <Cu^(2+)> , <Mn^(2+)> , <Zn^(2+)> , <Cd^(2+)> , <Pb^(2+)> , etc. even in the presence of alkali metals ion. The last object (3), however, has not been successfully worked out, and is still now under the studying.
