Research Abstract |
We have developed a flow imaging system for analyzing urinary sediments into five categories, i.e. erythrocytes, leukocytes, squamous epitherial cell , transitional epitherial cell and casts. The major results obtained by this research are as follows. (1) A compact N2-gas-laser with the pulse width of 10 ns was developed as a light source. (2) A procedure for designing the scattering chamber was obtained experimentally. (3) A procedure for segmenting urinary sediment images into desirable regions was obtained. (4) An algorithm for idetifying urinary sediments into five categories was obtained.
