Research Abstract |
The redox reactions of iodate ion with various organic compounds such as sulfur containing compounds (10), nitrogen containing compounds (7), and phenols (14), were studied. The experiments were performed voltammetrically using a rotating platinum microelectrode, and the reaction molar rations of iodate ion to various compounds were estimated. The followings have been concluded. (1) The oxidation process of various compounds with iodate ion was examined and clarified in some base solution (acid and acid+halide). (2) The analytical methods of various compounds with potassium iodate were established by amperometric titration using a rotating platinum electrode. (3) The differential determinations of methionine-methionine sulfoxide mixture and isoniazid-p-aminosalicylic acid mixture were carried out. (4) The flow injection method utilizing the redox reaction with iodate ion to determine many organic compounds was developed.
